That is your Redemption Roulette Prize Machine! ICly, the thing is maintained and stocked by Arche for a purpose it either cannot or will not articulate outside of "it's supposed to be there"; OOCly, this is a way of adding a little flavor to the game by encouraging players to thread with lots of other people for the sake of accruing prize tokens that they can use toward getting free stuff!
Every 20-comment thread that takes place during a non-plot log (so, everything except the investigations and roundtables, really) earns you one prize token. Dispense that prize token and give it a spin, and Arche will reward you with a prize in return!
DO THREADS WITH ARCHE COUNT TO EARN ME A PRIZE TOKEN?
Yes, they do! Though threads with Arche do not count as proofs of AC for the purposes of the weekly check, they do count toward earning prize tokens.
CAN I APPLY SEVERAL TOKENS TO THE SAME SPIN TO INCREASE MY CHANCES OF GETTING SOMETHING GOOD?
Nope! The prize machine works on a one token, one spin system. There are 100 total prizes available in the machine; for every spin, we'll RNG a number between 1 and 100 and dispense the prize you've just earned!
CAN I SPIN SEVERAL SEPARATE TOKENS IN THE SAME COMMENT?
Please do; it's more efficient spacewise that way. Try not to exceed ten to twelve individual spins per OOC comment, though.
I GOT A "GLITCH" ITEM. IS THAT BAD?
That depends on how you look at it! ICly, a "glitch" item means that Arche experienced an error in trying to come up with the item you were supposed to receive, and had to make a hasty substitution in the meantime. Therefore, a glitch item means that, rather than getting the cheap-ass piece of worthless junk that was intended for you, you're getting something you asked for on your application instead. The bank just defaulted in your favor!
CAN I GET ANOTHER PERSON'S "GLITCH" ITEM?
Unfortunately, no, Arche will not dispense any glitch items save for the ones you asked for on your application. It's tailoring them to you in particular, after all.
WILL WE EVER FIND OUT WHY THIS PRIZE MACHINE EXISTS?
Why, yes. While the prize machine is largely around OOCly so that we can enhance your gaming experience via a bunch of hilarious free shit as rewards for being active, its presence in the facility is a mystery that characters will eventually be able to solve if they apply themselves to it.

Apparently, this is a kind of string instrument from a southern country. It has strings across both sides, and each side has a different sound. The front makes a very bright and light sound, while the back makes a very dark and heavy sound.
